Thank you for your service…but it is time to say goodbye. Copy
If you are serious about the change you want to see, and serious about applying what you will learn in this course, then you will change. It will not be hard, or take a serious amount of effort, and it will not be something that you would need to keep on fighting for the rest of your life. True change is real, lasting and effortless – it will just become part of you.
Our greatest challenge is that the thing we want to change actually helped us at a certain time in our life. It helped us cope with a specific situation, or it helped us see the world in a certain way, it is part of our identity. True change is frightening and liberating at the same time!
Here is your first little assignment. I want you to make some time where you can be alone for a few minutes without any distractions and write a letter to that “part” of your identity that once helped you out, but is now standing in the way. Your letter may start with, “Dear Panic,” or “Dear Laziness” or “Dear Fear,” or whatever part is keeping you stuck. In your letter I want you to thank them for their service (i.e. try to figure out how they have helped you in the past) and tell them why you want them to leave. Then describe what your life will look like without them. And then say goodbye.
There are two ways you can submit your assignment (1) If you are using a journal (recommended), you can just take a picture of what you have written and WhatsApp it to me (073 303 8533) or (2) if you have done it on a Word Document or saved it as a PDF you can just upload it below:
